Kong Stuffing: Cool as a Cucumber

This simple and refreshing treat is perfect for long, hot summer days. The low calorie ingredients also mean it is a good choice for overweight dogs or senior dogs that aren’t as active anymore.

Cool as a Cucumber Kong Stuffing Recipe

  • plain yogurt
  • cucumber, sliced
  • mint
  1. Block the small top hole of the Kong with a sliver of cucumber. Turn the Kong upside down and place in a coffee mug.
  2. Add cucumber to the Kong – slice in sticks or in discs to adjust the challenge of your treat.
  3. Fill the Kong with yogurt, with just a touch of mint added. Put the Kong and mug in the freezer.
  4. Serve to your dog once frozen. Remember frozen Kongs can be a bit messy so choose a good location for snack time!

Ingredient Notes

Yogurt should be plain (not vanilla!) low fat with no flavors or sweeteners added.

Cucumber should be rinsed well but does not need to be cooked.

Mint can be fresh or dried, but either way you only need a small pinch to garnish.
